AIM ADORE ACHIEVE

The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), are graduate business schools in India. They were set up with the objective of providing management education and to assist the industry through research and consulting services. The IIMs award diplomas and not degrees.

Indian Institute of Management Calcutta was the first IIM to be set up, on November 13, 1961. Its main campus, covering 135 acres (0.5 km2) of area, is located in Joka, on the outskirts of Kolkata, West Bengal. The institute moved to its present campus in 1975. It offerspost graduate programmes, as well as doctoral and executive education program
Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad was the second IIM to be set up, on December 16, 1961.[3] Noted scientist Vikram Sarabhai and other Ahmedabad-based industrialists played a major role in its creation. It also had collaboration with Harvard Business School during initial period.It is the only Indian institute listed by The Economist on its 2010 Full time MBA ranking, at #85.Its two campuses, joined by an underground gallery, cover more than 100 acres (40 ha).
Indian Institute of Management Bangalore was established in 1973 following the success of IIM Calcutta and IIM Ahmedabad and demand for more such institutes. It offers special programmes in Software Enterprise Management and Public Policy Management. It is ranked byEduniversal as the top Business School in India.
Indian Institute of Management Lucknow is the fourth IIM to be established, in 1984. According to the institute website, it is the first IIM to start an additional campus, the Noida campus. The campus was established in 2007 and focuses on executive programmes. IIM Lucknow offers a unique program in Agribusiness Management.
Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, the fifth IIM, was established in 1996 and started its first batch of students in 1997.In 2001 it was the first institute in Asia to offer a distance learning programme in management for working executives.It boasts having one of the largest numbers of Faculty Development Programmes in India. It was the first institute to have more then 30% female students, in 2010.
Indian Institute of Management Indore, the sixth IIM and the last of the first batch, was established in 1996. Its 193 acres (78 ha) campus is located on at Rau, near Indore. IIM Indore offers a unique course for armed forces officers, designed particularly for mid-level defence officers.
Indian Institute of Management Shillong, also known as Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management, was the seventh IIM established, following a 2005 decision by the Government of India. The foundation stone of the institute was laid on December 1, 2007 and started its academic session from 2008-09 in the temporary accommodation at Mayurbhanj Palace, Shillong, while work on constructing its permanent 120 acres (49 ha) campus has commenced.
Indian Institute of Management Ranchi, the eighth IIM, was the first of the six IIMs established in 2010-2011 as part of the the Eleventh Five-Year Plan,with IIM Calcutta as mentor institute It was inaugurated on July 6, 2010 by the then Governor of Jharkhand M. O. H. Farook. It has the highest CAT cut-off of all IIMs, 99.66%
Indian Institute of Management Rohtak, the ninth IIM, was inaugurated and started operation on 30 June 2010 with IIM Lucknow as mentor, from a temporary campus at Maharishi Dayanand University. The foundation stone for the permanent campus was laid by Human Resource Development Minister, Kapil Sibal on 1 October 2010.
Indian Institute of Management Raipur, the tenth IIM, was inaugurated by Raman Singh, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh on October 11, 2010. It is mentored by IIM Indore.Classes are taking place at the Government Engineering College (GEC), Sejbahar. Construction of the permanent campus, on 175 acres (71 ha) of land, has started on August 2011.
